Hello everyone
I’m 34, not on any meds and my husband had the snip 6 years ago.
My period is usually 29-32 days apart and has been 36 days a couple of times over the past year. It’s now 49 days and no sign of it coming.
I’m definitely not pregnant (husbands snip, but also we haven’t dtd since last time anyway). I have been stressed, but I’m worried that something is wrong with me. Would it be weird to go to the GP about it? I don’t want to waste their time.

It could be PCOS. I have this- my period stopped at age 36 but I wasn’t pregnant. I had it checked privately and PCOS was diagnosed right away.

Brightstarrysky, I had an mri years ago and they said I had cysts on my ovaries, but then when I had more tests they said they had gone (?).

My periods are normally horrible: painful and I flood through so have to change every 2 hours or less for a few days til it settles down.

How do you have it checked privately? I’ll google now and see if there’s anything near me.

It definitely sounds like something was wrong and so worth checking. It was overseas so I just booked in with a private specialist without the need for a referral. He was able to check with a scan there and then because he had the equipment to hand. I’m not sure how to get a private referral in the UK but you could just call a private clinic and they would probably give you suggestions. Or your gp could be a first port of call

My period always stops if I lose a bit of weight, more than a stinebit do. Could be gone several months before my body realised it’s not being starved.
