Long story sorry but I will try to summarise...
Bleeding for 15 months not including a total of 4 weeks in that time I was not.
Wasn't allowed on pill was only on iron as severely anaemic.
Finally sent for hysteroscopy and they did polyp removal on that day (something I was not prepared for). All OK for the next few days.
4 days later I woke up in pain had extremely heavy bleeding that started at lunchtime, I could not leave the bathroom after I went home sick from work.
I was really not feeling well by late afternoon, called 111, they sent out paramedics (who were lovely) they advised I went to A&E to do blood tests etc. I gave it 40 more minutes then decided to go. Got there and I got worse, started to get a sudden headache and throat was feeling tight and couldn't hold myself up well. Got into triage and after a few questions I collapsed, apparently convulsed and woke up in resuss with wires everywhere. Obviously this was pretty scary. I had IV antibiotics and acid to stop the bleeding etc. Stayed one night as they moved IV antibiotics to oral and I wanted to get out of there.
Almost a week on I've decided to go back to work tomorrow, although I'm still feeling lightheaded and weak at times.
I did not have a transfusion in the end, just lots of drips. Their explanation was that my uterus was probably irritated from the previous procedure, no sign of infection. On my discharge summary they have listed endometriosis (which could just be something they had to allocate it to).
Has anyone experienced anything similar or can shed some light? Thanks.
