Urodynamics Test

I'm due to have a urodynamics test done in next few weeks. For some reason I am terrified. I have extremely bad bladder weakness and want to get to the bottom of it but fear of this test is putting me off going. has anyone else had it done, what should I expect in terms of pain ?

Hi, I know it is scary but honestly is fine. I have had it done a few times and the first time I was terrified much to the amusment of the doctor who calmed me down. There is no pain, not the most dignified test but not nearly as bad as I thought. Was over quite quickly and the idea was much, much worse than the actuality. HOpefully someone else can confirm this for you.
I dont want to go into detail about it since it was a few years ago for me and things may have changed. Good luck

My son has these regularly and has never mentioned any discomfort.

I’ve had this test. It’s was not at all painful for me at all. The staff were lovely and treated me with dignity. Please don’t worry about it, it’s all a bit embarrassing but so worth it to sort bladder problems out which are pure misery to live with. Good luck!
