Coil removed Friday - now feel poorly.... connected?

I had to have my coil removed on Friday. The strings went missing and I started getting periods and pain. A scan showed it was hovering just above my cervix so recommended removal.

First attempt at removal failed so was referred to gynae. They found it easily.

Sunday morning I developed horrendous nausea, vomiting and migraine. I blamed this on food poisoning at the time as we had eaten at a restaurant which turned out to be, frankly, quite rank. (Although DH was fine).

I now have since been spotting a bit but have tmi a really odd smell down below.

Admittedly I’ve not had a natural period for over 5 years but I’m sure it never smelled like this?!

No odd coloured discharge or pain or anything else to indicate an infection.

Is all this normal???? And could my sickness been due to removal of the coil too?

You might have an infection or the coil probably torn through your uterus and caused an infection. You need to see a doctor immediately and get prescribed appropriate antibiotics!
