Eye pain, headaches, water retention

I have had pain behind one eye for over two years now. I got put on topirimatw but due to this making me feel like a zombie I’ve stopped taking it. Doctor keeps telling me it’s a migraine, even though it doesn’t fit the pattern of my migraines at all. Some days I can’t even put my lenses in due to the pain. I’ve also stated having horrendous water retention-2kg for weeks, which seems to be linked to this pain. Go won’t refer me as it doesn’t meet any ‘red flags’. I can’t work out if it’s hormones, in 35 but was starting to think it might me menopausal. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I've not had experience of this but I would suggest that my first plan would be a visit to an optometrist who could do a scan of your eyes to check all is well. They may be able to suggest a solution to the eye pain part of the problem?
