Cum = smelly vagina?

A couple of days ago my partner finished inside me. Ever since, my vagina has ponged - it's a strong, fishy smell and even my partner has commented on it.

I wash twice a day, and no I don't wash with soaps or anything I shouldn't down there. Nothing has changed in regards to my hygiene.

Could the semen be causing this smell? It's making me quite self conscious.

Could be bacterial vaginosis... I’d go to the GP!

ImNotKitten · 30/12/2018 16:33

Sounds like a bacterial vaginosis infection. Can be triggered by semen.

cheesywotnots · 30/12/2018 16:35

Maybe your g.p. or the local sexual health clinic could help you, have you got a tampon stuck.

DirtyDishes · 30/12/2018 16:36

No, there's definitely not a tampon in there.

I will look into bacterial vaginosis

BV
Its a bastard to get rid of mind.
I had it and used soap just to get rid of the smell. Its foul. I get it on a period too.

You can get some gel things off the shelf in most supermarkets, near the thrush bits , use it for 5 days it sounds like BV nothing to stress about that should help sort it , good luck 👍🏻

Squeegle · 30/12/2018 16:47

You don’t need to go to the doctor for BV, you can buy a cure in Boots!

Lemond1fficult · 30/12/2018 17:36

This happens to m too. Think I have a slight allergy to semen.

Balance Activ pessaries are brilliant and usually fix it in one shot.

why does @Melissa567 keep adding these comments to threads? She's not MNHQ as her user name doesn't show this.

I reckon it's BV - you can get a self testing kit from a pharmacy and if the stick bit turns green, you've got it.

I've had it twice (that I've been aware of) a pp is right, it is a bugger to get rid of. It's actually more down to what you eat and the vaginal "flora" than any external factors like semen or soap.
