Was I on puberty blockers? NOT A TRANS THREAD

I’ve name changed for this. Because this info with info from other threads will make me easily identifiable. Not sure I’m posting in the right place either.

I was reading a thread earlier about a girl having an early puberty. I suddenly remembered that I was taken to the hospital for a series of appointments about precocious puberty. I was given a nasal spray to use 3 times a day. And it seems majorly important I used it at exactly the same time everyday. All I remember being said was that it might first excellerate puberty first. I can’t remember how long I used it for.
What else could it be? Are there long term side effects?
I know I can request my medical records but I have a week to wonder plus however long it takes. I know I can ask my mother but she would see it as an attack and an attempt to avoid visiting at Christmas.
I can remember what the bottles looked like but that’s it.
I’m not sure why I can’t remember more.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks sparticus. I’ve had a look. The size and shape is right, the bottle bottom bit was brown glass but I guess more than 20 years ago it would have been.

I’ve read the synarel leaflet and it doesn’t say it can be used for preventing puberty. And I was on 4 sprays 3 times a day which is more than the max dose. But I’m not dr so maybe I’m not understanding.
It’s weird I can smell and taste it again, having not thought about it for 25 years.

Polite bumpnfor the evening crowd.
I dot the even know what I’m looking for. Maybe it was something else entirely.
When I’ve been at the dr with other things recently it’s never been mentioned. Bloody weird realisation.

Could you ask to see your medical records to find out exactly what it was and what the purpose was? I think GPs have a legal duty to allow this.

Could it have been a growth hormone?

Iamtheworst · 21/12/2018 19:36

I was always really tall, I grew about 3 inches a year so it definitely wasn’t a growth hormone, unless they work in reverse? I dunno.

I will ask for my medical records but they’re closed for Christmas and if imagine it’ll take a while after that. In the mean time I just want to know.

I think they do work in reverse, to prevent giantism. You will have to ask.

BHStowel · 21/12/2018 19:46

if It helps I asked for some medical records recently and it was soooo easy. I’ve gone it in the past and it was a mission then.

This time I completed a short form and I had only really basic information as I couldn’t even remember the correct years. It was free this time too. I got the records through in a week.
