Weird UTI type symptoms

Last night I had all the symptoms of a UTI, came on quite suddenly, urgent v frequent need to pee, burning when actually managing to produce a few drops etc etc. Was utterly miserable for a couple of hours, felling of needing to pee wouldn't ease off and so bad it was painful, felt like my body was trying to purge something if that makes sense.

And then this morning....nothing, totally normal first wee and nothing since, no pain, no frequent urge, nothing. Thinking about it this has happened before, always in the evening and gone by morning, probably a handful of times in the last couple of years. Does this ring any bells with anyone? I'm 44 and do suffer with very minor urge incontinence (urge is urgent but do usually make it in time!) but otherwise healthy if that's relevant.

Do you ever get cystitis, do you drink plenty of fluids.

Thanks for replying, I have had UTI's in the past (don't actually know whether cystitis or lower uti) but not often, can only think of one where I've needed AB's in last couple of years. I drink mainly water, amount varies but I'd say 2-3 pints a day plus a couple of cups of tea is about average.

Definitely sounds like cystitis. If antibiotics don't clear it up within the first 4 days then its likely just an irritation down there. I've had UTIs for over a decade now and only a handful of times have the antibiotics not worked at all, sometimes I'm able to determine whether or not its worth antibiotics. There are over the counter sachets you can get to help with inflamation, packets of powder you stir into a glass of water and you drink it, basically antioxidants. Hope this helps
