A week after I came off my period I wiped blood (one off) and thought nothing of it now I’m experiencing backache and legs aching in lower bladder, also to top it off I woke up wet (never done anything like that before, dh was a dhead about it) I’m 28 with 3 kids (dh has had a vasectomy so not pregnant). Has anyone had similar it been a UTI or kidney related? Xmas Blush

I don’t want to concern you but if you can’t control your bladder and you have backache then these are often symptoms of cauda equina.

It’s not something you can delay on getting seen to either so please contact somebody ASAP.

ButterflyWitch · 15/12/2018 09:29

Agree with PP. not wishing to alarm you but if cauda equina you need immediate medical attention.

DragonMamma · 15/12/2018 09:32

Oh and do NOT be fobbed off when you consult medical professionals. Kick up a fuss and say cauda equina. The window of opportunity to get surgery is so narrow you can’t afford to be polite.

idreamofjeanniee · 15/12/2018 09:34

I was dreading someone saying that, I’ve had my suspicions for a while because my leg has been so bad, i should of noticed they could of been connected x

How long have you had symptoms? Please call 999 and say you suspect Cauda Equina. Fingers crossed it’s not but if it is you need to be treated right now

DragonMamma · 15/12/2018 09:37

In which case please go and present yourself at A&E immediately and tell anybody/everybody that you believe you have cauda equina.

In my place of work (law firm) we have a large amount of these claims and the result of delayed treatment/misdiagnosis are devastating,

TokyoSushi · 15/12/2018 09:37

Oh OP, I agree with everybody else, please get checked out urgently Thanks

idreamofjeanniee · 15/12/2018 09:38

Last 2 nights right leg has been like I’ve had a trapped nerve and I struggled to sit in a chair comfortably then standing at work didn’t help even lying down right now it’s hard to get comfortable

Stop posting and call 999

DragonMamma · 15/12/2018 09:44

Please stop posting. Don’t be that poster that waits and sees. A&E or 999, whichever gets you there quicker.

Permanent paralysis or loss of bladder/bowl function is not something you want to mess around with!

idreamofjeanniee · 15/12/2018 10:50

Thanks everyone I’m in a&e now x

Oh great! I’ve been checking back regularly. Are your concerns being listened to? Keep us update OP! I hope it’s not Cauda Equina but at least you’re in the right place.

VanGoghsDog · 15/12/2018 11:07

I do hope it's not CE but really do make sure they scan you for it. My sister had it for years before it was diagnosed and when it was they had her in for an op within a week, which shows how serious a disorder it is.

Let's hope it's a UTI and sciatica or something.

DragonMamma · 15/12/2018 15:50

@idreamofjeanniee

How are you now? Have you been seen?

idreamofjeanniee · 16/12/2018 00:31

They think its sciatica and to go to my GP in 2 weeks and maybe the other symptoms are from stress x

Hawkmoth · 16/12/2018 00:33

You can't leak urine from stress?!
