Hi everyone, as the title says I have been bleeding (period) for a month now, and no sign of ending in sight. I am literally at my wits end. I went to gp, had my hormone levels checked, all appears normal. Initially I had no cramps, but since yesterday cramping plus passing clots. Gp has put me on Progestrone only pills since yesterday, but even that doesn't seem to be working..Anyone has ever been through this? just looking for reassurance really, that it will stop and get back to normal,as getting scared now. Tia

I know how you feel! I am in a similar boat as have not stopped spotting/bleeding since a period in mid Oct. When I finally managed to get a Dr's apt, they were none the wiser but took a smear test (normal thank god) and have booked me in for a pelvic ultrasound. Hormones (I am 45) were not mentioned but like you bloods normal, although have been told recently bloods are not very accurate for predicting peri etc. Are you up to date with your smear tests? If not try and get one booked in, even if just for peace of mind. They managed to get a read from me even though I was bleeding. I am hoping in my case it may be fibroids as have all the symptons, and irregular bleeding is one of them. Are your periods normal? Mine have become very heavy, with horrendous clotting and my last one I had blood running down my thighs!!! I also get lower pelvic pain/cramping which can be a symptom of fibroids. Womb and ovarian cancer are rare in under 50's/pre menopausal women, so assuming you fall into that category, could also offer some reassurance........ The other thing to consider is that it may take a few days for the progesterone to start to work? Good luck and hope you get to the bottom of it xx

Thank you for replying. My periods are generally normal and use to be very regular every 30 days spot on, just for the past two months there was light bleeding. I did HPT and it was negative, so I thought it was due to hormones going awry, and then my period started in nov, which just seemed to go on and on. My smear test is normal, had it done last year. I have gone back to the gp, didn't seem too concerned, must be because of my age (33). The progestrone pill has lessened the bleeding, but not completely stopped. I hope it just stops soon. I am so sorry you are in the same boat, I hope it gets sorted for you as well! xx
