Desperate need of some reassurance

So, over a week ago now all of a sudden I started having hot shooting pains round from under my left armpit towards my breast (absolute agony) seemed to be worse if I didn't wear a bra, ran down the stairs, wrapped a towel around myself or sat down too quickly on the sofa etc.

I stopped breastfeeding my LG 5 months ago now so I'm praying it's just mastitis, if that's even possible!
So I went to doctors and he had a feel and decided to refer me to the breast clinic in 2 weeks, I begged antibiotics just in case it's mastitis and I've now been taking them for 3 days, with a little improvement, but the pain and uncomfortableness is still there - although no shooting pains!

My whole breast is quite lumpy, swollen lymph nodes, a few hard tubes and just next to my nipple I've only just found a tiny pinprick hard dot lump, literally tiny, and from that the tube feels quite hard too. I also have a numb patch in that area of breast.
So basically, I'm freaking out. I struggle with anxiety as it is but I cannot stop crying thinking that I have cancer, I mean the antibiotics don't seem to be working and now I've found a little lump I'm so so scared.

Does anyone have any positive or helpful experiences that will provide me with a little reassurance Sad

Oh bless you, try not to panic although I know that’s easier said than done. It’s good you’ve been to the GP and will get it seen at the breast clinic soon. Then at least you’ll know for sure what it is. I’ve had 2 lump scares that were thankfully benign however it is a worrying time and cancer is always in the back of your mind when you find a lump. Keep strong xx

Flowers Try not to poke the lumps. I ‘created’ granular lumps anxiously checking.

I had a recent breast scare. I totally get your worries. But I learnt that all refer alla have to be seen within 2 weeks. I had really bad pain at times. Shooting and burning, and not just in the breast areas, in my armpit too and is resonated deep too. I was convinced of the worse. I also had a lump. Everything went well at my appointment and I was told pain is an extremely rare symptom of anything sinister. Still find that hard to get my head around. Please try not to worry xx

Thanks all for the advice, @NGC2017 if you don't mind me asking, what did yours turn out to be? It sounds very similar. I'm getting little stingy itchy shooting pains now also

@Laurenb23 I have lumpy breast tissue he said but the particular one I found was a cyst.
He put my pain down to hormonal and/or musculoskeletal reasons but I've never suffered issues around my cycles, in fact I've had 2 during the most recent run of breast pain. I wasn't sure how because to me a lump is a lump but he said he knows the difference and mine does not feel sinister.
Please try and not worry. He was very confident when he said pain is an extremely rare symptom of cancer. Again something I struggle to get my head around how can something be growing inside your body and not be painful. Mine is only just starting to subside. It was there constantly, always uncomfortable but at times it really frightened me how bad it was with the burning and itching and deep pains.
The waiting is horrendous. I hope you are able to relax a little x
