So after years and years of me going to the doctors about my excruciatingly painful and irregular periods and me trying all different kinds of pills they've agreed to refer me to an OBGYN at the hospital as they suspect I might have PCOS or endometriosis, I'm not sure what to expect though? I've never even been for a smear test before? Will they want to do an examination? What if I'm on my period at the time? Will I have to cancel? Any advice?

Hi I no it's quite daunting but you will be fine they will prob take your history and symptoms and yes prob will do an internal examination .. I would aslo recommend pushing to have a laparoscopy or you will never find out the cause of your pain I learned that the hard way way this year !!
