Lump on Labia majora

Womanslife · 05/11/2018 21:07

I got my period today and noticed I felt a bit sore when I wiped. I looked this morning and there is a a few swollen lumps on the labia majora. (one on one side and 2 on the other) It feels quite sore and itchy.
Is it worth waiting until my period finishes then going to the docs?
Has anyone else had this? Feeling a bit worried about it

I get this - it seems to be hormonally linked as I only get a flare up around my period (just before usually). The Dr said its a type of excema and prescribed an emollient cream to put on which really does help. You can buy it over the counter. Cetraben.

I first thought this
www.nhs.uk/conditions/bartholins-cyst/

In any case, I'd check with the doctor asap.

I have this. The dr couldn’t feel anything and said it was fine.
Mine’s definitely not a Bartholin’s cyst as not it’s not far under enough.

I've never had it before and have been getting my period for 17 years now 🙄

I only got it in the last couple of years. I am 46 now. For me, I think it is a sign of the hormone issues that come with being pre-menopausal.

I get this when I get a period. Started happening in my mid forties.

picklemepumpkin · 05/11/2018 21:48

Have you done anything to injure the area? Been a bit rough, worn tight trousers on a bike?

I've had small swellings there that feel enormous, but resolve into poppable boils. They don't come to a head, but will burst with a little help in a hot bath.

It may well be hormonal because I haven't had them for years now.

Womanslife · 05/11/2018 21:55

No, I haven't injured the area! I wish I had, then I'd have a solid reason! I'll wait until my period ends and if it's still there, I'll make a docs appt! Thank guys x

I had a nasty lump there, had to have it cut out and biopsied but it was nothing sinister.
A benign viral papilloma.
Awful though having it cut out with my legs in stirrups

Womanslife · 06/11/2018 13:01

Today's it's quite sore when I pee! Is that normal?

Have you inspected? If it's a hot pea like lump, then it needs to be burst.

If it's a sore patch, use a barrier cream like napisan.

picklemepumpkin · 06/11/2018 13:17

No, not napisan.... sudocreme. Got my baby brands muddled...

Womanslife · 06/11/2018 14:30

Yeh it looks like a hot pea like lump! Oh dear, that should be fun! Thanks
