Hi there, Doctor found blood in my urine I couldn't see it in it, she also found a uti, she prescribed me antibiotics but I still feel I have all the symptoms, I am extremely anxious and am always on google finding the worst scenario, I have a doctors appointment next week but I'm so worried I also feel nauseous but not sure if that is the worry, anyone had anything similar to this xx

I'm sorry you seem to be so anxious over this. I have had several UTIs and whilst the antibiotics to clear them are never particularly pleasant, they've always cleared up nicely with no adverse effects. Is there something in particular that is worrying you so much?

I'm worrying that it might be cancer, it scares me so much, did you ever feel nauseous with your uti? Xx

Yes I did, I also had horrific stomach ache and back pain, dizziness and vomiting. Within 2 days of starting the antibiotics I felt so much better. Please try not to worry too much, and if you're that anxious, ask your GP for a blood test. Hope you're feeling better!

I’ve had multiple uti’s with blood. Don’t worry op, it’s normal !!

blood is frequently seen on the urinalysis dip that indicates a UTI. (Nitrate positive) If your dr has prescribed antibiotics they will also have sent the sample off to the lab to check that the correct antibiotics have been prescribed as different infections respond to different antibiotics.
Once you have finished the antibiotics drop a new urine sample off to check that all signs of infection are clear, that will put your mind at rest re the blood in the urine. Try not to worry, it really is very common.

Thanks everyone, took another sample in today and he was going to send the sample to the hospital so they can prescribe the correct antibiotics. Xx
