Hi everyone,
I was wondering what is going on with my breast and I'm looking for advice and to hear from other mums' experiences.
I'm 26 y.o. and I've been breastfeeding my little girl for 10 months, despite the past 2 months she has only been wanting to feed from breasts in the night.
Since early stages of breastfeeding, my left breast has caused me problems, mainly getting very red, sometimes warm and most of all itchy, like impossible-to-deal-with itchy. I literally have been wanting to take my skin off. I never had mastitis and the gp gave me a cure with cortisone for about 2-3 weeks.
Needless to say, the cream didn't help in the long term and the gp decided to send me to the local breast clinic, considering I also had a huge weight loss since after birth and really struggle to put weight on. Also, my left breast is very saggy, like the nipple doesn't align to the other of about 4-5cm.
My appointment was a joke, the consultant barely touched me and saw me, after 2 minutes consultation she just told me to apply Voltaren under the breast where it hurts (she touched a painful spot) and told me to hydrate, plus in the letter she specified that what she has felt is related to breastfeeding and it doesn't seem anything suspicious (still can't understand how she realized all of that in 30 seconds of touching and palpating).
Has anyone had a similar situation before? Could these symptoms be just normal effects of breastfeeding?
Thanks in advance for your help!
