Hi
So my periods have always been regular, 28 days or so, lasting 4 days at most, normal flow.

About 7 weeks ago I had an early period, starting about 1 week before due. Thought nothing of it at first but then it lasted about 6 days, with dark brown spotting for 3/4 days after.
(This never happens to me, I come on, then slowly come off, no symptoms, no brown discharge)

So again thought strange but ignored it, then 2 weeks later I'm bleeding again, normal period but for about 4 days with spotting for 2/3.

Thought I must be having a strange cycle as a one off but then 2 weeks ago I'm bleeding again for 2 days but this is very light with the same red/brown discharge for a few days.

I'm 37. Would this be hormonal change due to my age or something else.
I've no other symptoms or issues.

I had similar but I'm a bit older than you. Doc said it was probably peri menopause and I've gone on mini pill which has cured the problem for now- no periods!

I had this issue starting at Christmas. I had five periods in under 2 months. I was put on the mini pill by the gp, then referred to gyne when it didn't solve the problem. The gyne then took me off of the mini pill as he felt it may actually be prolonging a blip that may have resolved itself. It all went back to normal and I went back to having a 30 day cycle. I'm younger than you, at 28, but it sounds very similar to what happened to me, even starting with an early bleed.

I'm 45 and this started happening to me in August. I had a scan yesterday and it's a diagnosis of fibroids. I'm waiting for a biopsy appointment and a coil to be fitted if it's suitable. The gynaecologist said I've probably got 5-7 years before menopause, so I'm hoping the coil works.
