Has anyone had a UTI that keeps coming back and does anyone know why this might happen. In the past I’ve had a few times that I’ve had cystitis and was either given anti biotics or over the counter tablets and it cleared within a week. However, recently I’ve experienced the same symptoms but a week or so later it comes back again. Is this normal? I’ve not been able to get to the doctor as I was away from home a couple of times this happened. Any ideas? Thanks

Perfumed soaps, bubble baths, salts, bombs ... sex, tight jeans, tights. These will all start it off for me. Maybe it’s just not completely gone though so maybe just go back to the doctors

Age, menopause can lead to increased UTI’s. Something about thinner linings and decreased mucous membranes.
Have you tried d manoose? Available at health food stores. It’s a powder that dissolves tasteless in any liquid. It helps rid and prevent UTI’s.

Thank you for your replies i am ok at the moment and have had a call with the doctor who said maybe I was not drinking enough water and had not got rid of the previous infection and that’s possibly why it came back. It just worries me that I had it a few times and wondered if it was common could contraceptive pill have anything to do with it? I’m in my 30s with no other health issues.

Not sure about contraception but sexual practices can cause UTI’s. Hand washing, no rectal to vaginal (because the urinary outlet is very close by). Empty you bladder even a bit after sex etc.
