Do I need to be seen today?

Just woke up and came over all dizzy, led back down and waited 20 minutes before trying again, got up, almost passed out, struggled to the loo to find I’m bleed heavy. My period only finished a week ago so I’m not due. I do get spotting but never felt this ill. I suspect I am anemic as period was really heavy. Will I be ok until Monday to see my gp or should I get checked out today?

Go today!

Go and ring a friend or relative to take you to an emergency clinic or A and E. Do it quickly. If there is any possibility pregnancy (ie uterus and sexually active) you need exclude ectopic pregnancy. ( from a GP)

I have no one to have the kids, A&E an hour away and a have a Tesco delivery on its way.

I am on the pill so not much chance of being pregnant? I have felt unwell for a few weeks.

I’m having cramps and feeling really sick and dizzy. Poor dd1 is trying to look after me and is going to sort food delivery out when it gets here.

Maybe phone 111 and explain you can’t easily get anywhere. They’re a bit referral-happy but have always been helpful when I’ve used them.

Thanks, I think I will do that, they might be able to sort me an appointment rather than me sitting around A&E. I’m trying to get hold of my mum to see if she can help but she is unwell herself.

Please, please go!

Your health is more important than a tesco delivery.

It could be v serious at least ring 111 now

Do you have a walk in clinic nearby? You must be seen today. I would go to A and E no matter how far it is. If you call 111 they will tell you to go to hospital.

WipsGlitter · 20/10/2018 08:44

Definitely get seen today.

There’s a walk in clinic in town but I think it’s now appointment only (so you walk in and make an appointment which could be 4 hours later), town is a hour away as is A&E. We have minor injuries near by but don’t think they deal with this kind of thing (run by nurses).

The cramps are just mild period pain cramps.

I have 2 dd’s With ASD so can’t really drag them to A&E as dd2 won’t cope. I think the only option is to see if 111 can book me an appointment so I don’t have to hang around A&E.
