Assorted pain in lower abdomen

Hi, I'm mid investigation for pain in my uterus / ovary region.

Its been going on a long time, but I've put of going to the docs as it was quite random and different. Sometimes at one side or the other, sometimes in the middle. Sometimes dull and achey, sometimes take-your-breath-away sharp and stabby.

Saw nurse practitioner, who said my uterus felt "bulky" ( her words) she mentioned fibroids and endo as a possibility and referred my for an ultrasound.

Ultrasound has come back clear with no further action. I feel like I could cry, I wish there was something there. Clear means no answers. Sad

I've made another appointment to see her, and started keeping a note of the kind of pain, where and when it is happening.

I'm so frustrated, I'm on cd29, period due any time, had sharp stabbing pains, backache and hips aching all day and the scan was clear. Icould cry with frustration.

What now? Any thoughts or advice gratefully received!

I would see the GP and ask for a referral to a gynaecologist. In the meantime keep a daily pain and symptom diary if you do not already do this because this will give the gynae clues.

If endometriosis is the root cause of all this, it will not be detectable on an internal ultrasound scan. It is usually diagnosed through a keyhole surgery op called a laparoscopy.

Update - been referred to gynae for further investigation.
Also been prescribed mefenamic acid and to go for blood tests to check for anaemia.
