Mirena Coil Removal

Hi I have had a mirena coil and had no issues with it, my issue is I have had it since the end of 2011 and it was supposed to be removed after 5 years, I have read only it can be fine for 7 years and I have not had a period for 7 years. Since having it inserted I have become agoraphobic and been stuck in my home so that is why I have found it very hard to go and get it removed. I have also heard a lot of horror stories about the removal of it. I am trying to build up courage to go and get it removed. Has anyone else has this done and has the removal been fine can you tell me what happens?. I do not need any new contraception as I have no partner and haven't for 4 years. I did have very heavy periods before. They were debilitating. I don't really want another coil put in either. Thanks for any advice x

Damn sight easier coming out than going in!!!! In was a trauma but out was a cough and it was over.
