Hi everyone,

I am a few days post laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, I was diagnosed with endometriosis on my bowels, left side of my pelvis and right side too. This was my first surgery/first official time being diagnosed and was wondering if anyone in a similar boat to me have any advice
with doctors in the future and how quickly/if the endometriosis came back? and also if you have an advice with the healing process after surgery, as I am feeling completely wiped of my feet...

It has taken a long time to get where I have now, with multiple doc appointments and it going dismissed for other things, any advice would be much appreciated :)

Thanks :)

The early days after the op are hard. Be kind to yourself.

I was diagnosed around my bowels. I have found it useful following the diet for endo, I’ve cut out all wheat, dairy etc (see amazon for books) I have to say unless it’s a big coincidence my monthly pain has decreased.

The Mirena coil was an absolute Godsend for me after 20 years of endometriosis. I did have a drug-induced menopause when I was younger which was very effective and then I had two children. The endo returned about 10 years later and then I had the Mirena. I still had periods but they were so much more manageable.
I hope you feel better soon. The first few days after a lap are tough. You have had a general anaesthetic which takes time to get out of your system plus they would have had a good rummage which will cause bruising. Take things really easy and absolutely no lifting.
