Bleeding for over 3 weeks

I've always had very heavy periods of about 12 days. Since I'm done having children, several doctors recommended the mirena coil. I've had the coil in since January and after an initial period of prolonged but light bleeding and some pretty severe cramps it seemed to settle down this took about 5 months. I would have a heavy, but not as painful period. Usually around 8 days long, roughly every 5 weeks.

I came on just under 4 weeks ago. It's still going extremely heavy (flooding mooncup if I don't get to empty regularly) and I'm losing at least 160ml a day as far as I can tell.

I told the Dr. This on Friday and have an appointment in 2 weeks time. Surely I can't be expected to keep living like this. Do I find back to let them know it hasn't stopped? It's heavier if anything.

Has anyone had this before?
