I'm pear shaped and I have the widest hips imaginable and I hate it. I've tried losing weight in the past but when I have I never seem to lose it there. I'm not overweight I just really want to lose it on my thighs and hips, any advice? Can you be slim and be a pear shape?

Yes you can but unfortunately us pears have to exercise and watch diet rather than just diet.

I have a balanced diet, do crossfit 3 x a week and wear size 8 clothes and I'm still a pear. At my most fit I will get very flat chested and my legs and bum will still be quite heavy due to the amount of muscle they carry. If I'm half a stone or so heavier I develop saddle bags on my thighs, which I hate. My waist is always quite small and toned no matter what weight I am. I am always a pear shape. My mum is a pear too and used to be a fitness instructor. I don't really think I can change it short of plastic surgery, which I have no desire to get. My Dad died at 36 so if I'm ever feeling a bit down about my shape I remember that my body is healthy.
