First ovulation since birth - why do I feel so bad?

My daughter is 13 months and I breastfeed, still doing 3-4 feeds in 24 hours. I think I'm ovulating for the first time since before I got pregnant. We were ttc for a long time so I recognise the signs (cervical mucous etc) and now I have what feels like ovulation cramps too, which I was prone to before pregnancy.
But I feel utterly shit all over. Exhausted, teary, really queasy (can't face food), have a slightly raised temp. But there's no sign of anything else wrong such as a virus or - as I first feared - maybe mastitis.
Is this probably just because of a massive hormonal shift? I basically feel quite similar to how I did in the early queasy weeks of pregnancy...
Has anyone else been through this and how long did it last? I feel awful as since my dd started nursery and I went back to work five or six weeks ago we've both had loads of illnesses and we've barely spent any quality time with my DH, it's just constantly passing the baby between us to try to get one or the other of us to recover! I don't fancy being floored like this for the best part of a month.

So sorry you're feeling like this OP, sounds like you've had a rough time recently and this is the last thing you need! No advice really but will be watching with interest as I'm going through similar at the moment. I could have written your list of symptoms myself except I've just got my first period since birth (baby 4 months old & breastfed - feeling massively cheated it's come back so early!!). I feel like I'm coming down with something and really don't feel myself at all so seeing your post was quite timely for me. I'm guessing it's something hormonal?? Will be interested to see if others have any similar experiences. Sorry not to be more help!

It was ovulation - I got my period 1.5 weeks later, although it was much shorter and lighter than my pre-pregnancy periods. We have also all come down with a bad cold though so possibly a mixture of the two!
Hope you're feeling better @SausageBrain
