6 months post partum. Period has not returned

Hi all. Just need some advice. My baby girl is now 6 months old. I am 41. My period has not returned after giving birth. My GP said at my daughters 4 month vaccinations that he wanted to wait until 6 months before doing blood tests to understand why my period has gone MIA.
My breasts are still leaking even though I couldn't breast feed. Could this be the reason why my period has not returned. And do you have any advice what steps to take next. I doubt it's menopause at this point as I feel totally fine - no menopausal symptoms.
Also I am definitely not pregnant. Have taken 2 tests and both were negative.

Hey, totally different situation for me but I was told to wear a very supportive bra and not to touch them at all to let the milk dry up. In the early days I even showered with a bra on 🙈

I would definitely go back and see your doctor for a chat though, if only to put your mind at rest.
