Caesarian scar sometimes feels funny - it's been 15 years

Like now for instance it feels particularly numb on the outside but tight/taught on the inside if that makes sense. Sometimes it itches too. It's well down hidden in my pubes but when this has happened I seriously was wondering if I'd crabs but no it's just an itch on my scar. It's been 15 years. It doesn't hurt, just feels rather otherworldly. Thoughts????

Mine still feels numb on the outside but sometimes is itchy and scratching makes no difference because i can't feel it! My section was nearly 25 years ago

Oh wow, I have this too. Mine is 7 years old and got a touch up 3 years ago. Wink

Numb in places, all sorts of tugging inside (surgeon said I had a lot of adhesions) and itchy on the edges. Glad to hear others have the same issue.

I have an abdominal scar from aeons ago - it is still uncomfortable. In fact, about 20 years after the op I felt a small scratchy bit on the scar and gave it a pull - it was part of a so-called dissolving stitch!

DrDiva · 03/09/2018 22:20

Oh yes, me too - 6 years, and if it gets bumped it really hurts! Other times, just as you describe it.

Mamaryllis · 03/09/2018 22:24

Mine is mostly numb, occasionally itchy. (Nearly 19 years). No adhesions though.

Malibucyprus · 04/09/2018 09:26

Same here, itchy, but also numb 11 & 15 years ago....

TokyoSushi · 04/09/2018 09:27

Mines only 5 years old but yes, still feels odd sometimes

Fairylea · 04/09/2018 09:29

Same here. Mine is nearly 7 years old. It’s still sometimes tender.

ItWentInMyEye · 04/09/2018 09:32

Mines 10 years old and still numb in some parts, and also hurts at either end of the scar like it's being pulled sometimes. My DM & DMIL both still have numbness 30 years later.

Wow! So it's definitely a thing then!! Well I'm glad I'm not alone.
