Period Change

Hi,
This may seem like a strange question, but normally my periods are really easy, never experienced cramps, PMS etc so very lucky, however this month (I'm due on in the next day or so) I have had what I can only imagine to be period pains over the last couple of days and I was just wondering if this is normal when it is a symptom I don't usually experience?
Any advice would be great.

I never used to experience cramps as a teen but at the age of 21 I started to get them. My sister has also developed really bad cramps (she passes out) since being an adult. So developing new symptoms is entirely possible. If the pain is very bad, I'd suggest talking to a GP though just to get checked out in case it's anything worse. ( I had bad pains and they wanted to make sure it wasn't cysts etc. Nothing out of the ordinary, but no real conclusion on the cause of the pains.)
