PCOS and moodiness

Good afternoon

Just asking for your experiences with PCOS and moodiness before i book an appointment with the Doctor. I am currently on microgynon 30, which I take for 21 days and then a break of 7 days, everything on that side seems to be OK, but at the minute I'm currently a dragon with my family. I can flip and lose my rag over something really small and my patient is..... well i don't actually have any.

I only discovered i had PCOS around 3 years ago when we were trying to conceive our 2nd child, and apparently I'm really bad (not sure what that means) we did conceived with our DS(2) who is nearly 2, but I'm always angry with everybody, imagine PMT but all the time.

I have put it down to being tired and the fact my OH doesnt help me and i feel like I'm doing everything, but he has changed and now pulls his weight, iv been having early nights but I'm still really moody. I have googled it and Dr Google is saying PCOS can cause moodiness.
Is that true and how do i manage it?

my family would be very grateful for your advice.

Also there are quite a lot of PCOS support groups - on Instagram etc... might be helpful?

Turns out I was moody and angry because I was unhappy in my relationship and I resented him.
My 9 year relationship has been over for 3 months and I'm so much happier :)

Hi there. I’ve been in a similar boat. I’ve got pcos and I found my mood was awful on microgynon. I was super irritable, hated being touched and was just moody with everyone. I came off the pill, and changed to the mini pill. My mood improved, but then after 6 months, my periods became erratic and my mood started going dark again. This time, I came completely off the pill and we used condoms (and eventually my dh agreed to a vasectomy Grin)

Since being off the pill, I’d say I still have mood swings which I definitely put down to my hormones but they’re not as long lasting as before. I can tend to put them down to being in a certain part of my long cycle.

Perhaps consider asking your gp to change your pill as it could be that rather than the pcos causing your anger. Worth a try. Good luck!

Ooops, just seen your update! Glad you’re feeling so much better, shame about your relationship but it was obviously the right decision.
