Paper-cut like tears on perineum

Hi there, I've never posted on here before but I'm desperate to know if anyone else has ever experienced or are experiencing the same thing.

basically, in April I started noticing small papercut-like tears in between my vagina and anus, these tears healed up but came back a few weeks later and repeated that cycle for about 2 months until one day they came back and showed no signs of healing.
They were really painful when it came to going to the toilet, and I got to the point where I decided to go to the GP to get it checked out. So I got a swab and some Fucidin cream which had no effect on them then once the results came back they were misdiagnosed (unfortunately I had no idea until the end of the antibiotics) as strep B.

They healed once again and I was so glad, thinking I had cleared them. But then they emerged again a few weeks later worse than ever. I got an emergency doctors appointment and was given Fucibet (more potent than Fucidin) with a moisturiser, and this helped them heal once again, only to return as soon as I had finished the course of the cream.

After returning to the GP pleading for any help, she diagnosed it as a fungal infection of some sort along with eczema, and she prescribed me with Timodine which I used for 2 weeks day and night. My god, there was a huge improvement and I thought everything had gone back to normal but ever since starting the followup cream (Daktarin) my skin is feeling a little rough and starting to tear again.

I'm really at a loss here, I don't think I can cope with the cuts coming back again. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.

I should really point out I don't have any other signs of a problem, its literally just small 2-3mm long tears which keep reopening and sting an awful lot when in contact with water... but that's enough to make it unbearable.

Did the GP/pharmacist advise on phasing out the creams gradually? I'm not an expert but with e.g. eczema creams if you're using them day and night, then suddenly stop, it can cause a rebound flare-up. Better to go down to once daily for a week, then every other day, etc.

You poor thing! I haven't experienced this but I know how painful paper cuts are and to have them there would be awful.

The first thing to spring to mind for me is Bio Oil. I'd be massaging that into it twice a day, indefinitely, and in the meantime perhaps asking for a referral to a skin specialist.

There is an identical thread on this on the forum of Menopause Matters www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,40590.0.html and the consensus is it's estrogen deficiency- with which I'd agree.

If you are anywhere around 40+ it could be the start of peri menopause. In any case you need to ask for a referral to a specialist- a gynae- and one who treats vulva disorders.
