Never ending period

I am struggling with a prolonged period. Day 18 and no sign of slowing.
I use the nexplanon implant for contraception. It's been in place for 13 months. It took a while to settle and I had spotting for a few weeks then no period at all. I was pleased with this because I have very painful heavy periods but they used to last 6 days at the very worst. Then about 6 months ago I had a bleed. Only 5 days but heavy.
Then another 45 days later. Short but heavy again.
Then 32 days gap. 9 day period
30 day gap and 10 day bleed.
21 day gap and still bleeding. Day 18 today!
At day 12 I called 111 who told me to go to a and e. Had a pregnancy test which was negative and a blood test and was not anaemic or showing signs of infection. Internal exam showed nothing around cervix so assumed in uterus and advised could be fibroids. I have a GP appointment to try and get a gyne referral.
I had some norethisterone from 2 years ago when we were going on holiday and my period was going to coincide. I didn't take them at the time so had no experience. I started taking them after the a and e visit following the dr's advice. It has done nothing to slow the bleeding down. If anything it's worse.
I'm starting to worry a bit now. I have unbelievable cramp which is why I called 111 on Monday. It felt on par with labour pains. I feel exhausted and like a hormonal mess.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get this bleed to slow? At one point I was soaking overnight pads in 2 hours to the point of leaking. I had a leaking incident at work on Wednesday. Mortifying.
Could it be something sinister? I lost my appetite about 2 months ago and subsequently lost about a stone. Not tried. Sleep alludes me and I feel hormonal in terms of acne, greasy and sweaty. GP can't see me before 28th. A and e would be a wasted visit. Nothing they can do it seems.
Thanks for reading a rambling post.

Maybe you can figure out a way, perhaps sell something or take a small loan or whatever is needed. Your health is priceless, can't be replaced with other things.

Agreed but if it was just the 150 for an appointment that's fine. But moving forward I would be limited. We have a mortgage, bills and a child so money is already very tight. I will just have to wait it out for the NHS. I would be very fed up to know what was needed to fix me but can't pay then have to wait anyway.
Going to speak to my local gum clinic as they deal with contraception now not my GP. Ask for implant out and maybe mirena coil or pill.
Wait for GP appointment on 28th and ask for gyne referral.

£150 though might tell you what's going on and you can take that to your GP. Very often private Drs will just refer you back to the NHS anyway! My SiL had to go private as no one was taking her serious about her symptoms, private Dr spotted ovarian cancer signals straight away and referred her for NHS ovarian cancer screenings and treatment.

If you can get £150 it might just be enough to get ball rolling

Hi Op - I’m older than you (40’s) but had something very similar early this year.
Had very heavy bleeding for 7 weeks (regular flooding, soaking through towels.)
Because of my age I thought it might be normal for peri menopause but when I finally went to gp she said bleeding at that rate always needs investigating and referred me for a gynae appointment (took about 10 weeks to come through.)
If it doesn’t slow down in the next few days I would call your surgery again.
If it gets any heavier call 111.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

Caved and went to walk in sexual health center today. Wanted to get the implant out just to stop all the hormones going on. Ended up being swabbed for infections... Been with the same bloke for 10 years. Neither cheated. Not infection. Pregnancy tested again. Internal exam with and without speculum.
Sent home with 3 months of progesterone only pill and still have the implant in.
Told to speak to GP about gyne ref. Said if still bleeding on the pill or starts again after come back.
My mum is convinced in in perimenopause. She's coming with me to my GP appointment so she can express her concerns.
I've had the worst day. Had to speak to management about a colleague who is struggling with the job but won't ask for help and caused 5 incidents alone last week. And we are NHS admin so that can't happen.
Then on my way from the clinic to get my son, my car broke down at the petrol pump!
So today can F off and I am having wine before dinner.
The universe hates me I swear.

Oh bless you OP. Flowers

Bleeding like you are is just gonna make everything feel so much worse.

If it makes you feel much better, I know quite a few in our NCT group can't get on with the implant actually because of how much they bleed when on it. They've all just had it out and they've gone back to normal. Hopefully your GP will see you sooner than end of the month and you go back to normal once it's out

Sorry to butt in but this is happening to me, Iv been on and off bleeding since February, last 3 weeks have been awful constant heavy bleeding and the pains in my lower stomach are so intense, makes me sick and feel like going to pass out. Iv been put on T- Acid but done nothing, I’m currently in a lot of pain but don’t know if I’ll get laughed away if I go a&e?
