Should I get Mirena removed?

It was a PITA to get in, but since then I think it tanked my sex drive and I am single now (not unrelated Sad ) so that aspect doesn't matter any more - but equally don't want to end up insatiably horny with no partner! Don't have/don't want children. Am 43. No desire to get a new partner for the very long foreseeable future either.

Main thing that worries me is getting periods back. Haven't had them since early 20s as always been on pill/depo/recently Mirena as they were erratic and painful (with side effects like sudden and uncontrolled vomiting etc).
