5 months post partum and period hasn't returned

My baby arrived 5 months ago. My period still has not returned. I am not pregnant and I am not breastfeeding. My doctor wants to wait until I am 6 months post partum to do blood tests. I am 41 years old. Could this be the start of menopause?

DId you breastfeed at all? Mine didn’t come back until after 7 months with any of my pregnancies. Other things that have stopped my periods are being thin (BMI under 21) and stress.
