Has anyone got/had a Diastasis-recti?!

Hi All

Since my DD was born 19 months ago I have had a noticeable 'bulge' at my upper abdomen so much so that people constantly ask when I am due again Shock

For context I was a size 16 prior to birth and actually weighed less on the day I went into labour than I did the day I found out I was pregnant - I ate healthily throughout pregnancy. After giving birth I just thought my tummy would go back to how it was (never flat always had a bit of a tummy!) but the top bit kept getting bigger and bigger.

It is rock solid and painful. I went to the GP today about it and he basically said tough shit nothing we can do. He said he can refer me for a scan to see if it is a hernia but he thinks its 99% a diastasis & it will probably get rejected on 'cosmetic' grounds. I have also had chronic back pain since the birth which I am told this can cause?

So I came out feeling so deflated as I am stuck like this now it seems I feel deformed and I look an odd shape, I have to wear bigger tops to accommodate it and I cant sit close to my desk as its in the way!!

Has anyone had one - is there anything I can do excersize wise to get rid of it or make it smaller?!

Hi there are some YouTube videos on exercises helping to repair it. Hope it goes well for you
