Hi ladies,

It's been a really long time since I had regular periods, I'm talking years! I had endometriosis so had treatment which stopped my periods until recently.

Now they've returned, it's been hard and to be honest... I don't remember what a normal period is like?!

The second they start, it's like someone has sucked every tiny bit of energy out of me, everything is hard work and my arms and legs feel so heavy. I've been feeling completely spaced out, faint and like my arms are falling asleep / loosing feeling.

This has happened for my last 3 periods so I know it's related.

Does anyone else have this? Do I need to get back to the docs?

Thanks in advance

Hello, this is my first ever post on Mumsnet but I hope I can give you a little comfort. I haven't suffered endo myself but a friend of mine has and she suffered the same discomfort. Irregular, painful, heavy periods. Bleeding in between and was convinced she couldn't have children. However, she did get pregnant last year, and now has a lovely baby girl. But she still gets these symptoms... I think you should ask for a smear and a colposcopy if you want to be 100% sure nothing major is causing it and then at least you know you're healthy and can take measures to control your symptoms. Feeling weak is another now I think about it. She always stays in bed day 1/2 because she has no strength. Make sure you're healthy and then I think you may just have to keep on top of it with pain killers or doctor's suggestion... Being a woman is blooming hard work.
