I take Topamax for severe migraine - usually prescribed for epilepsy - and they really have been a life changer. One unfortunate side effect is that they can cause me to leak urine.

I recently started to use the smal Tena liners and they worked really well, except now my vulva feels sore and irritated and slightly itchy.

There’s no discharge so I don’t think it’s thrush. Could this be an allergy? Could anyone suggest any alternatives to those liners and what could I use to soothe the discomfort. I’m 45, if that’s relevant.

Could it be sore because of the leak? Might sound daft but try sudocrem for a few days and see how it eases. If not take a trip to the GP you might have a little infection

The leaking has sort of lessened a bit recently...it gets worse as my dose changes then settles down again. So that side of it hasn’t been too bad, but I occasionally wore the pads anyway, just in case.

I will try sudocrem though. I must be lucky in that I have got to the age of 45 without having experienced this before!

Could be your oestrogen levels falling a little. If so you can ask your doctor for a cream

I’ve got some Lanacane to help with the discomfort and some BV Activ for tonight. If that doesn’t clear it up, I’ll try the oestrogen cream. Thanks all for your advice.
