Why have my periodes stopped? Diet related??

Had the copper coil fitted about a year ago. Before then I had been on the pill for ever.
Once my periodes settled I became regular like clockwork, periode every 4 weeks to the day.
My last periode was a week late but when it arrived it was more or less normal. This one has just not arrived at all - nearly 7 weeks and counting.
I have been going to the gym regularly since the beginning of the year and do some weight training, so I have a fair bit of muscle. But still plenty of wobble!
I have also changed my diet dramatically about 3 months ago due to suddenly getting a lot of gastric pains (under investigation) so am not eating a lot of unhealthy fats and cut out dairy which has helped. I have lost some weight but am still within a healthy BMI. I have been slimmer before and usedto have as much muscle or maybe even more in the past.
What could it be?

I should add for l the last couple of days I have had lower abdominal bloating and a lot of pressure/pain - as if I am getting a periode. But still no bleeding.

How old are you? perimenopause maybe?

SummersB · 18/07/2018 15:34

I'm only 38 so unlikely I think.

Could you be pregnant or have you been really stressed recently?
I am experiencing similar symptoms and for me it’s 7 weeks too. I did a pregnancy test including at the doctor and they both came back negative so am going back to the doctor. I think you should too.

*Hopefulinbalham" I'm definitely not pregnant. I haven't seen my GP yet as the NHS website states that they will not do anything until you have missed 3 periodes apparently but that seems like an awfully long wait! Did your GP ask you to come back?

The doc didn’t ask me to go back but I’m going anyway. We have been trying for a baby so I want to make sure everything is ok following a miscarriage last year.
I also feel quite bloated and my breasts are bigger. In some ways it feels like it did before the miscarriage, why is why I’m finding the negative pregnancy tests really odd.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage Flowers I guess at least I'm fortunate in that fertility is not something that I'm concerned about at this point in my life. I also have none of the symptoms of pregnancy, more periode-like symptoms.
I hope your GP takes it serious and you get to the bottom of it! I think I will make an appointment too.
