My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year or so now with no luck, so my gp referred me for some blood tests and a transvaginal ultrasound. The bloods came back fine but the scan picked up a mature teratoma (also known as a dermoid cyst I believe?) on my right ovary. I am being referred to a gynaecologist and will have another scan in a few months to see if it has grown, but I’m freaking out a bit.
Has anyone had one? Did you have it removed? My gp said it’s unlikely to be the reason we’re having trouble conceiving (especially as my left ovary is fine) but I doubt it’s helping.
