Hi all , I don't much like tampons find them a bit uncomfy and they don't seem to expand width ways ! looking for your recommendations - I want to swim so need to sort. Tried mooncup etc - has to be a tampon thanks

Tampax but the original ones not the compact pearls.

user109842 · 13/07/2018 19:58

Compak every time

RocketPockets · 13/07/2018 20:41

Tampax pearl.
The compact ones that you have to pull into shape I found just collapsed when trying to insert. One time I used five before getting one that didn't collapse!

Tampax original, only uncomfortable if not far enough in for me

Babymamamama · 13/07/2018 20:44

Basic non applicator ones from super drug boots or wherever all expand width wise only- rather than length wise. I have never understood why anyone wastes their money on Tampax which expand length wise. Always seemed to me a critical design flaw. And destined to leak.

Lilets non applicator and most of the supermarket own brand non applicator I've come across expand width ways rather than lengthways like tampax.

Lilets non applicator, and the applicator tampons expand width ways. So do Naty, Cottons, and Organyc brands if you want 100% cotton.

thanks all

Lillets applicator expand widthways. I moved to them after Tampax felt as if they were going to expand length ways right out of me

I know you asked for tampon recommendations but I have found using a mooncup (I use the Luna cup brand) has been so much better.

I used to find tampons really uncomfortable. The cup is tricky for a few months until you get used to it but I have found my periods have got lighter and less painful after the switch!

No longer have any need for them but I used Lillets non applicator tampons for forty years. Never had any problems with them.
