Smear test question

Hi, is it ok to have a smear done 11 days before period? I have a 30 ish day cycle. I've never had one before and I'm a bit clueless.

Should be fine. Usually 14 days from the start of your LMP is the aim.

It's fine any time as long as you're not bleeding - mid cycle is out of date advice with liquid based cytology

@Pebblespony it's honestly nothing to worry about, the nurses are kind and it's over very quickly

I have retroverted uterus. Do you think this will make any difference?

Your cervix is in the vagina and should be in pretty much the same place whether your uterus tips backwards or forwards in the pelvis. So short answer- no!

Pebbespony the trick if you have a retroverted uterus is to make your hands into fists and put them under your bum to raise it a bit.

This was a tip given to me by the practice nurse, and it makes smear testing much easier.
