I know this will sound like a strange thing to ask - I have NC as I post quite a lot but this is a bit personal. Sorry if TMI. I just need to see if other women who have had children have experienced this.
I have noticed since the birth of my DD who is baby number 2 that I have changes in my bowels. What is bothering me is that I now feel that I can't pass wind properly. It's almost as if I feel the pressure on my bottom and have to push the wind out. On a morning I wake up incredibly gassy
and spend twenty minutes walking around with my fart shoes on. Hilarious to my children but worrying for me - shouldn't I be passing wind in my sleep rather than sorting it until morning? I just feel unable to fart easily - basically I always have to push it out! I did this this evening and then felt a terrible pain in my stomach muscle like I was going to strain the muscle or eve cause a hernia 😱 I have to stop pushing the wind out but I get the pressure sensation and feel I need to, a bit like pushing when giving birth ??
To add to this the feeling in my bowel when I need to poo has also changed from before I had my children. Now the sensation is a pressure down in my bottom and I think "oh I guess I need a poo", either this or stomach ache ? Whereas before I'd get the urge to go, it's hard to describe but a tingling something like that, now the poo is just there IYKWIM.
Could giving birth have done something to alter my bowels? Could it be to do with poor pelvic floor? It's not to the point I'm wetting myself, but if I sneeze twice I know about it... I'm worried I have damaged my insides? I don't have split stomach muscles as far as I can tell.
Birth with DS was fairly straightforward though he was premature, vagina with no drugs or any assistance in the actual birth.
DD was full term, vaginal birth, gas and air, but back to back, I needed episiotomy and ventouse to turn and help me deliver. Nothing major afterward bar a uterus infection which quickly cleared with antibiotics.
Any ideas would be great thanks.
