vaginal odour that is not BV or thrush

Has anyone any suggestions as to how to deal with my problem.

On a normal day to day basis, my vagina seems normal and healthy but when I have sex with deep penetration, it seems to dislodge an unpleasant fishy smell - not strong but noticeable to me and my partner under the bed covers. It is not from him - he is ultra clean and we use condoms (Durex Extra Safe if that is relevant) - so it is not sperm or anything on his penis. I have investigated when alone and the smelly bit seems really high up (so high that I can barely reach with my fingers - but a fully inserted tampon or vibrator will smell at the tip). The smell seems to stay up there and not come down. It disappears at period time. I have done BV and thrush tests at home - negative and my GP has done a swab and says no obvious problem. The problem also seems worse if I have a lot of sex - say 3 days in a row. No sex for a week and it almost disappears. I have had BV before and it is different to that - less fishy more sort of seaweedy/urine like (if you know what I mean).

Has anyone else had this and have advice?

Go to Gum for microscopy, those home tests aren't fantastic and under the microscope we can see clue cells and all sorts x

Sperm is alkali and can make the smell of BV more noticeable, it may be that you have an intermediate flora normally and the sex is tipping you towards BV. The home tests are just pH paper and not great. A GUM clinic could do a speculum exam and microscopy to check

Hi sammy hope your well, just wondering if you got any answers or treatment. I have same problem but a rotten meat smell. Normal sex it doesn't happen with but with deep penetration it seems like partner hits my cervix and the smell is relased.(sorry tmi) Am really not well with hot and cold sweats spend most of the time exhausted or asleep. Docs are not concerned and i just want my life back as i am missing so much of my baby growing.
