Excess hair / PCOS

Hi all,

I stopped the pill in January to TTC but since then my excess hair issue (that I thought was under control following NHS laser treatment) has gotten worse than ever.

I am undergoing tests for PCOS at the moment which may explain why this is happening. I've also gained a lot of weight since stopping pill. My face has exploded with acne (again I thought at 25 my days of that are long gone!).

Do you know of anything that can be prescribed like an ointment/medication etc to help with the excess hair? As I am TTC this may limit what I can potentially take.

I've tried plucking/waxing but the ingrown hairs are unbearable at the moment and makes the acne look worse. It's making me so down about my appearance. Don't feel feminine or attractive at all.

I know there is a cream the doctors can prescribe, my wife had it. I'm not sure what it's called but I'm sure if you ask they will know what to offer you.

I've really cleaned up my diet this week and have been trying spearmint tea to see if it lives up to its allegations of testosterone reduction...

Feeling better both physically and mentally from the clean eating

Vaniqua is a cream that is available on prescription to reduce hair growth. It takes a while to start working and stops as soon as you stop using it. I had to stop using it as it caused more acne along my jawline. PCOS really is a nightmare.
