The Small Museum. Who is Alice??

I’ve just finished this book. At the end one of the characters says they hope to find a home “near Alice”. I’ve flicked back through the whole book and I can’t find this character. It’s driving me crackers! Can anyone shed any light??

Is it a place? Its not living next door to Alice from the other thread is it? 🤣
