Just read this and I feel really crushed now! I empathised so much with the main character - not the affair but but the feeling of not knowing who you are anymore because the foundations you built yourself on have crumbled away. I hope she had a happy ending!!!

Wow I'd never heard of this, just read a quick 2 line synopsis; that's me, lost my foundations completely after divorcing and losing my home and job in my 60s. I'm putting it in my Amazon basket (other purveyors of reading material are available) now!

if you get the edition with the other two stories then I would suggest reading the first one last. The middle one didn’t catch me in the same way tbh
