Liane Moriarty - last one standing - have I already read it??!

Is this the one where it turns out all the death predictions were just coincidence?

I just got out out of the library, thinking I hadn't read it yet. Been looking forward to it. But now I have it, the cover looks very familiar. I've read the blurb, of course. I've flicked through. Still none the wiser. Have I read this book?? Help me remember!!

I think you mean ‘Here one moment’ which is about a woman who gets on a plane & predicts age & type of death? But I haven’t read Last one standing.

She has one called the last anniversary which was about a baby abandoned on an island.

So I know it's about a woman predicting deaths in a plane. But do I know that because I've read the blurb? And then after that... The deaths come true. And someone tracks the old woman down and it turns out she was having a psychiatric episode and it was all just coincidence? No woo?

I do like Liane Moriarty 's books but I don't think they bear a second read.

I didn’t realise I’d missed one of hers! I adore her. Didn’t like Apples much tbh. I’ll give this one a go, thank you. And there’s a new one soon.

This one isn’t great but ok for a beach holiday.

The new one is out now. It’s a sequel to Big Little Lies (but I assume separate to the TV sequel, as it’s set 10 years later).

Yes. I tried to read it 3 times then gave up and watched the tv show and was glad I didn’t bother finishing the book. All a bit odd plot wise though the casting was fantastic. I didn’t actually check if the ending of the book and show were the same, I should!

I loved the first one and this should be good, thank you. The second season of the tv show wasn’t great so I’m intrigued to see what she does with it. Wasn’t Moriarty involved in the screenplay?

I’ve just googled and obviously it’s set after the second season is set, so apparently just follows on from that. Like the second season is part of the story that was never a book. It seems that she adds in the meryl Streep character, for example.
