Goodreads Summer Encore reading challenge

I've managed to collect most of the goodreads summer challenge bookmarks but one evades me.

The summer encore. They’re all new books by the looks of it. Has anyone who’s completed this one got any recommendations? Nothing is grabbing my attention. Did anyone pick up one in a 99p kindle deal? Or kindle unlimited unlikely

Thanks!

I have about six in a queue at the library 🤣. Managed to get hot girl murder club on BorrowBox to read on my iPad

Thanks @InALonelyWorld I’ve picked up Pretty Dead Things.

I have four @teaandtoastwithmarmite but I’m not holding out hope!

Yes I’m the same. I actually want to read the Shari Lapena one and Lisa Jewell but I’m not getting either of them for months although on hold at two libraries!

Hopefully some will be in the autumn challenges… I just love the confetti bookmarks. And I love ticking off lists.

Like you I wanted to get this challenge as I’ve got all the others! I just finished The Great Wherever. I found it pretty bland, despite an interesting synopsis. Might skip the next challenge as I don’t think I’ve rated a single read from them particularly highly, or maybe I choose poorly.

I like the challenges but I feel they dictate a lot of my reading for the year. Just found out I can collect Nine Lives by Catherine Steadman from the library though!

I happened to be planning to read The Women by Kristen Hannah, which fulfilled 3 of the summer challenges I think. At least 2 anyway. But otherwise I know what you mean @inthekitchensink

I won’t be as insistent on the next batch because as @teaandtoastwithmarmite says they dictate the year a bit too much.

Unless I’ve got lots of them on my tbr pile and then find myself 2 away from the whole set and then I’ll read any old tosh for that bookmark Grin

I am also a bit obsessed with completing these! I am always pleased when they contain books I was planning to read anyway or already own (I have a serious book buying habit and a serious audible and library habit which means I get through the ones I bought more slowly). Just finishing off the poison wood bible and the women, and then I think a book with summer in the title. Was going to do the bill Bryson one as I own it already but it looked long and I’ve read a few long and serious books lately. So have got one called ‘problematic summer romance’ from the library which I’m assuming is a nice light easy read!
it’s so exciting when the new challenges come out too :)
