Little Spark by Jess Kidd

I've just read this. Nobody seems to have heard of Jess Kidd, which is a shame, as she's excellent.

Is it new? I’ve read a few of hers, including Himself, Things in Jars and Murder at Gullsnest.

I like her writing, I think it’s quirky.

I really like her writing. What did you make of Little Spark @Sausagenbacon?

Little spark came out this month. As with all her others it's inventive and enjoyable. JK is such a good writer, i can't understand why she's not better known. She doesn't fit into any particular genre, which i like.
This particular book reminds me of The Observations, another undervalued book.

I've read quite a few. Himself is one of my favourite books and Things in Jars isn't far behind.

I was hoping the Gulls Nest books would have a similar feeling and they don't but they're still good.

No, i'm not JK. I just thought it was unusual that a good writer was pretty unknown, but it seems that she's better known than i thought!

What’s it about?

I loved it. I thought it had the same feel as Things in Jars. Great twists and turns!

I don't want to give away too much but it's set in the mid 19th century and starts with a young girl in a travelling show, as an attraction, slowly discovering who she is.
I ordered on my kindle, on the strength of the author, which meant i had no idea of what it was going to be about.
But i wasn't disappointed.

I agree she should be better known @Sausagenbacon- I reckon sometimes it depends where publishers chose to put their marketing budget. Word of mouth can be a powerful thing though!
