Novels with a similar feel to The Magic Apple Tree

I re-read The Magic Apple Tree recently and I 'm interested to read fiction with a similar vibe. Any suggestions? They don't need to be recent, any era will be of interest.

I I loved The Magic Apple Tree. and I recommend Cottage Pie, by Marjorie Hessell Tiltman. It's memoir not fiction, published 1940, but if you liked The Magic Apple Tree then it does have a similar feel albeit from an earlier era. It's a 'country year' style memoir and like The Magic Apple Tree it even has a chapter on making marmalade. A lovely book - out of print I think, but there are secondhand copies online. In a similar vein, you might also like Lilias Rider Haggard's memoir A Norfolk Notebook.

Family Life by Elisabeth Luard

I think it is out of print, so would have to look on second-hand sites - and specifically a Christmas story - but there is also Lanterns Across the Snow, also by Susan Hill.

Otherwise, Larkrise to Candleford by Flora Thompson.

Just trying to think of any more. The Country Child, by Alison Uttley is still in print. It has a sequel called The Farm on the Hill, which is not but I bought a copy on Amazon. Not quite the same but How to be a Tudor and how to be a Victorian by Ruth Goodman are both splendid.
