Your views on Kristin Hannah narrator for these 3 books

Having consulted tinternet on the narrator of 3 Kristin Hannah books, I've been told. :

Julia Whelan narrated The Great Alone and The Women (with Kristin Hannah herself reading the author's note on The Women). The Nightingale was narrated by Polly Stone, a different narrator.

I've discovered I'm very picky on narrators , (not used to talking books til recently)..So could I have your views on the narrators of any of these books please?.

Thing is, opinions on narrators are so subjective. So other people’s views may not help. Listen to the preview and decide for yourself.

I just listened to The Great Alone and it was very well done. I’m fussy with narrators too, but that one was very good.

Thanks Pink..This is actually the one I went for in the end and I think I'm going to be fine with it . What I can't abide is slow, weighty delivery.Drives me up the wall. Cheers

There are a couple of series I really liked where they changed the narrators, and one of them was v ponderous, slow and weighty. V annoying as the narrators in the later books were fine and I really wanted to listen to it all. I ended up playing them at 1.2x speed to take the edge off it - it actually worked really well, it doesn’t sound like a speeded up cassette tape squeaky voice or anything (!), just a little less irritating. Still wasn’t my favourite narrator but it made them far more bearable. Would recommend if you find yourself in a similar situation!

Thank you so much ! I'm about 80% through Theo of Golden and the narrator's southern drawl is so annoying.. Just unbearable. I'm going to give your tip a go. Don't like to abandon a book that far through it but he's just so slow..Many, many thanks 😁
