Why are Jane Duncan My Friend books not available on Kindle?

Does anyone have any idea why Jane Duncan My Friend books aren't on Kindle? There are online comments that they're available, or that they're available to Print on Request, but I can't find any further information. I haven't contacted Kindle yet, just wondering if anyone here knows anything?

I guess the publisher would need to pay to digitise them and then make them available in kindle format. Are they currently in print? Odd that the publisher hasn’t made the digital version available if so.

Would depend whether her heirs, whoever they are, have granted any publisher the rights to produce digital editions.

Even if a publisher currently does hold the rights, the contract would have to specifically include digital rights.

Kindle itself isn't a publisher, it's a platform via which publishers make their books available.

My parents had some of these and I remember loving them as a teenager. Absolutely no help to you but thank you for reminding me of them. I liked her husband being called Twice because he was Alexander Alexander.

Thanks, everyone. I just wondered because previously there was a clickable button on Amazon on the lines of "I would like to read this on Kindle" and it's been removed - presumably it linked to publishers. I expect you're right, and digitising is mainly a financial decision. Duncan books still seem to be fairly easy to find second hand, @Pandorea - I had a look out of curiosity.
